This one goes out to the little guys...

Hey Everyone! In my nighttime ponderings (yes, 9:45pm is late-night for me after a busy day of shoots and consults at the Moon) I’ve realized that lately we’ve been blogging- almost exclusively-our Class of 2011 Senior Models! While we loooove our models (tis the season) and can’t wait to shoot many more of them in the upcoming weeks, I can’t help but feel we’re neglecting the little guys! Seniors may take the stage as we’re in full swing posting their images to share, but we have just as many adorable mini-models coming through the doors at both our Mequon and Delafield photography studios. Springtime has brought in a fun batch of families, babies, and kids and we’ve been enjoying seeing you all. Below are a few images from one of my favorite recent sessions. These two were a photographer’s dream…so well behaved and extremely cute, working with them made my day. Keep coming back to look at more fun sessions…I promise we’ll try to keep up!!!!

Also, just a reminder that Mother’s and Father’s Day are quickly approaching!!! Consider buying a gift-card for mom or booking a session for surprise images for dad- photographs, Wall Art, Desktops, and Custom Coffee Table Books are all amazing keepsakes that you can both show off and enjoy yourself. Call 262-240-9848 to purchase a gift-card or session today!!!

Why dont we do this more often?

After numerous occasions eating the expired popcorn (yes, I admit it) that’s been hanging around the studio for…awhile…and more than my fair share of the studio’s supply of Tootsie Pops, I’m glad someone made the suggestion that we have a Shoot the Moon potluck. Actual food!? This was brilliant. (No folks, don’t think everyone at the Moon shares my horrid eating habits while at work, most have grasped the concept of bringing a lunch) But anyway… we decided last week to have our first staff potluck. The tasty lunch was a fun little bonding activity to christen our new Mequon photography studio location, and it was a great way to do it. Taco dip, veggies, salads, stuffed mushrooms, puppy chow, and the staple Sloppy Joe’s made for a variety packed spread and a happy staff afterwards. To sum up I guess my point is that I’ve learned a few things….

1) Stale popcorn is not the only option for lunch food, regardless of whether or not it seems more appealing because it’s the cheese kind.

2) Eating large amounts of taco dip will inevitably lead to a stomach ache. Every time.

3) Potlucks are not only a fun staff bonding activity but provide leftovers for more lunches that are not stale popcorn.

4) Check yourself for powdered sugar stains after consuming puppy chow.

Here is a recipe for my potluck share last week, Cucumber Sandwiches!!!

Cucumber Sandwiches

2- 8oz cream cheeses

1/4 cup mayo

1 small package italian dressing seasoning

1 large cucumber

1 package(row) cocktail-rye bread

Dill

Combine and mix cream cheese, mayo, and italian seasoning. Spread onto slices of rye bread, add one cucumber slice and sprinkle with dill. That’s it! Simple, and delicious…Enjoy!

(Don’t worry Melissa…I finally tossed the popcorn…)

Taylor

Seniors are always a personal favorite to shoot, and I love when they request fun lighting and bring in great clothes. Taylor is absolutely stunning and I can’t wait for the second session of her shoot! Check out some favorites from her first session!

Marina

Last week I was lucky enough to work with Marina. She had the cutest shirt and amazing accessories that really tied together her entire look. We were especially lucky to get outside before it rained for some fun field shots. Seniors! Don’t be upset if it’s cloudy the day of your portraits, it often makes for some great lighting and funky, moody skies! Check out a few favorites!!!

It has to happen!

We can’t wait until all those baby bumps we’ve been seeing turn into cuddly newborns. Consider planning your newborn session soon after birth to capture baby’s first days and weeks of life. Also ask about our Little Stars Club Sessions to allow for a variety of images over your baby’s first year. Check out a couple of favorites from a recent newborn session.

Dana

Dana also recently came back for her second model shoot of the season, but instead of fighting the heat, Dana got to fight the wind! Luckily with some patience and tree coverage we were able to get some fun shots. Check it out!
