At Shoot the Moon Photography, we love our client’s individual personalities to shine through. It does not always make for a timeless portrait to hang for years when Susie is wearing hot pink stripey tights with a purple tulle skirt, and Mom is in her favorite taupe cashmere sweater. However- if you stick with a color theme, you can feel free to mix and match until your heart is content and it will look amazing in photos– and let your personality sparkle!
After numerous occasions eating the expired popcorn (yes, I admit it) that’s been hanging around the studio for…awhile…and more than my fair share of the studio’s supply of Tootsie Pops, I’m glad someone made the suggestion that we have a Shoot the Moon potluck. Actual food!? This was brilliant. (No folks, don’t think everyone at the Moon shares my horrid eating habits while at work, most have grasped the concept of bringing a lunch) But anyway… we decided last week to have our first staff potluck. The tasty lunch was a fun little bonding activity to christen our new Mequon photography studio location, and it was a great way to do it. Taco dip, veggies, salads, stuffed mushrooms, puppy chow, and the staple Sloppy Joe’s made for a variety packed spread and a happy staff afterwards. To sum up I guess my point is that I’ve learned a few things….
1) Stale popcorn is not the only option for lunch food, regardless of whether or not it seems more appealing because it’s the cheese kind.
2) Eating large amounts of taco dip will inevitably lead to a stomach ache. Every time.
3) Potlucks are not only a fun staff bonding activity but provide leftovers for more lunches that are not stale popcorn.
4) Check yourself for powdered sugar stains after consuming puppy chow.
Here is a recipe for my potluck share last week, Cucumber Sandwiches!!!
Cucumber Sandwiches
2- 8oz cream cheeses
1/4 cup mayo
1 small package italian dressing seasoning
1 large cucumber
1 package(row) cocktail-rye bread
Dill
Combine and mix cream cheese, mayo, and italian seasoning. Spread onto slices of rye bread, add one cucumber slice and sprinkle with dill. That’s it! Simple, and delicious…Enjoy!
(Don’t worry Melissa…I finally tossed the popcorn…)
Meet Abby.
Destined for greatness in the world of musical theater. She came in for updated headshots today at our brand new Mequon Photography studio. We had so much fun playing with both dramatic fashion lighting photography and also natural light photography. Here are two images i loved!
I’ve enjoyed seeing Miss L and Miss G grow up since they were little babies! They are tons of fun each time I am able to photograph them at the Mequon photography studio. Its always fun to see them each year and this studio session was no exception! There were lots of giggles and tons of laughter as we enjoyed our photography time together.
Thanks for letting me take your photos!
Today we ventured outside the photography studio and I had such fun photographing these two spunky, fun (and polite!) kiddos down in the Third Ward in Milwaukee. The day was RAINY and they were great sports when we were taking their portraits. Great photo styling and a fun location makes for a super portrait playground! Thank you for letting create these portraits for you and being your photographer!
This is the 2nd Holiday Photo Shoot I’ve done for Elka and we ventured into her back yard for her photo shoot. We hoped the rain would hold off long enough to be able to keep our photography session outside. The setting was lovely and picture perfect and she is a natural in front of the camera! Thank you so much for allowing me to be your photographer and capture these portraits of you!
Erika came in for her senior pictures and was one of our Shoot the Moon portrait models for the class of 2010. We had such fun with her second shoot and found my new favorite spot tucked away! Thanks so much for a great shoot Erika! I’ve enjoyed being your photographer for your senior portraits!
We are having SO much fun with our awesome, funky seniors this year! Mersadi had great clothes and was up for anything! She even treked into a ravine and waded through a swampy creek for some cool shots! Thanks for a fun afternoon!
I’ve been photographing Mr. L since he was a little infant, and he will be celebrating his third birthday! Happy Birthday!
