Shooting a family is always a “never-know-what-to-expect” experience. No two families are alike, have the same personalities, or interact in the same way. As a photographer you can logistically prepare for it as much as you’d like, but you never know what the shoot will be like until that family walks through the door. It’s always a sort of anticipation filled surprise, meeting a group of people who is about to trust you with capturing this point in their lives through images.
