Stressed out at the thought of picking out photo perfect clothing?  Are you stumped at what to wear when you prepare for Milwaukee Family Photographs? I’ve recently fallen in love with Pinterest which allows me to quickly tag photo ideas and family photography clothing ideas onto ‘boards’ to refer to later.

How it works is that you drag a bookmarklet up to your bookmark bar. When you are searching the web, you select “pin it” and it will pull up all of the photographs on that page, which you are then able to “pin” to a board and add notes. The best thing– it links back to where you originally found the idea so you don’t have to bookmark everything.

The question always comes up– what do we wear for our photos!  This is a common question we get at the portrait studio when people call for their photography session.  The best advice is to coordinate but still let your individual personalities shine through!  Pick a color or grouping of colors to use (hint- coordinate it with your furniture for an awesome look!  Pops of red in the photo coordinated with red throw pillows- custom fabulousness!)  but in different prints and textures make your family portraits look cohesive but not matchy!

At Shoot the Moon Photography, we love our client’s individual personalities to shine through. It does not always make for a timeless portrait to hang for years when Susie is wearing hot pink stripey tights with a purple tulle skirt, and Mom is in her favorite taupe cashmere sweater. However- if you stick with a color theme, you can feel free to mix and match until your heart is content and it will look amazing in photos– and let your personality sparkle!
